PowerPhrases Are A Potent Tool In Job Interviews

Colorado Springs, CO – The only way to succeed at an interview is to be prepared. To be prepared you have to do your homework on the company where you are trying to get the job and also be ready to answer the interviewers questions. Interviewers consistently ask the same questions. PowerPhrases made to answer these questions precisely and correctly will help one be prepared. Here is the best way to answer some interview questions with Power Phrases so you can get the results you want.

“Tell me about yourself.”

Use PowerPhrases that are specific about your experiences that are relevant to your new position: My strengths are… An example is…Starting the interview on the right foot will help the whole process. Make sure you don’t ramble or go off on a tangent. Keep it simple and precise.

“Why are you the best person for the job?”

Use your experience and tell them why it will make you perfect for the job: You need someone who can produce results. My track record as a … for … years shows that I am that kind of person. Be prepared to go into more depth and backup your PowerPhrases.

“Why did you leave (are you leaving) your job?”

Keep your answer to this one upbeat. I have a plan for my career. I need a place that offers opportunity for growth. If you are currently unemployed explain your situation positively. The company went through a large-scale downsizing over a period of several months. I made it through the initial cuts but not the final reduction in workforce.

“Do You Have Any Questions?”

When they ask you if you have any questions, say YES. It is important to be enthusiastic about the company you will be working for. Showing that you are interested is a great way to let them know you want the job. Questions should be focused on the company and not your benefits or salary. For example:

Who are your company’s key competitors?

What are the greatest strengths of your company?

What else can I tell you about my qualifications?

What is the growth potential of this position?

When will you make your decision? ·

The final PowerPhrase is the one you need to have in your heart. It’s called Power Thinking: I have so much to offer this company. Remember this one and you will have the confidence that your interviewers seek in those they hire. Don’t be afraid of failure, learn from it and move on. Ask for feedback at the end, the interviewer will tell you exactly what you need to improve on for your next interview.

Don’t forget to practice your responses to these questions and more. More PowerPhrases can be found in the book PowerPhrases, written by Meryl Runion. All PowerPhrases in this article come from Power Phrases, by Meryl Runion.
