Linda Brakeall’s 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People In Business

Linda Brakeall’s 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People In Business

1.  BE PROACTIVE!  Don't wait for customers and clients to call you. When you are the call-ER you have the power. Even when you are delivering bad news.  Catch 'em by surprise! And those keep-in-touch,  "I just wanted to say, Hi!" calls are always welcome. Try it and see!

2.  BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND.  If you want your business to run smoothly, you will leave nothing to chance. You'll tell your clients and customers all of the steps that are involved, what they can expect when, where the bumps in the road are, and how you handle "challenges". Let customers/clients be your partner in the process from start to end.

3.  PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST.  Spend the first two hours of every day prospecting for new business.  Once you start trouble-shooting, -and answering e-mail! -you may never get around to prospecting. Once the business pipeline dries up, it's like starting all over again!

4.  THINK WIN / WIN.   Whatever your business or occupation, you're in the people business. And people like to win.  I do, don't you?  How can you add value to your service or product so that your client knows s/he WON, when s/he decided to work with you?

5.  SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD.   Listen first, listen patiently and then- after you understand exactly how your client, customer or family member feels, THEN explain your position. It may have changed while you heard another point of view!

6.  SYNERGIZE.  I bet you're pretty smart.  I bet you know some other smart people, too. What if you gathered 4 - 10 of them together? Each one with different perspectives, different experiences, different knowledge bases and contacts?  Do you suppose you could form a Dream Team that would help you accomplish your goals and dreams while you helped them with theirs?

7.  SHARPEN THE SAW.  There is a direct correlation between the amount of time and money you spend on you and your career and your level of success! You probably won't learn a lot that is radically NEW, but that is not the purpose of reading books, listening to tapes and CD's and going to seminars.

The purpose is to help you ACCESS and USE the information you already know. Education keeps you stimulated, makes you more productive and more successful!
